She was an instructor in English at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, 1944-46, and Duke University, Durham, NC, 1946-53; Purdue University, Lafayette, IN, assistant professor, 1953-61, associate professor, 1961-65, professor of English, beginning 1965.
